During his career, he has acted as a bridge-builder between technical and commercial functions, has led multiple technical development programs for new technology within the energy sector (primarily oil and gas), spanning across several continents. He also has experience from a large variety of E&P business aspects, ranging from operations and optimization, digitalization, process safety, strategic R&D, to development of international large-scale multi-billion dollar projects with an international perspective. Erik has been with a number of large companies, including Statoil, Maersk, DTU, and currently in Halder Topsøe.
Erik’s aspiration is to help students make the right choices early in their careers. Of particular interest is the importance of choosing the first job, develop balance between personal ambitions and private life, as well as understanding the importance of all the non-core aspects of working life, e.g. networking. His aim with this program is to help students and young professionals to understand and navigate the corporate world outside the university, and to support them in defining and achieving their work-life ambitions. Erik himself finds it inspiring and rewarding to work with young people, and that his experiences can serve as an inspiration to many others.
