Frederik’s career has revolved around delivering geomaterial insights for development and design of onshore and offshore infrastructure. Trained a geotechnical engineer at DTU, his career path started out in material sciences, developing into site conditions assessment and more project management-focused roles. Recently, he has taken on a management role as a geoscience team lead further developing his leadership skills.
After starting out in permafrost research, he has since delved into the geotechnical elements of the Offshore Wind industry in roles as contractor, developer, and consultant in various size companies (startup/SMV/corporate). Through the last 5 years, Frederik has typically found himself in Client facing roles in charge of – and taking part in – technical delivery of projects involving offshore and onshore site investigations, interpretation of soil conditions and building of ground models, and cable route design, installation, and permitting for offshore wind projects in Europe, North America and Asia.
Alongside his technical career, Frederik has been volunteering with the Danish Guide & scouting Association, where he has taken part in delivery of adult leadership development courses as instructor and course director for 10+ years.
Frederik enjoys helping new employees thrive in a highly technical engineering workplace, where it can sometimes take all of your courage to ask a senior colleague what was actually just discussed at the meeting. Building confident and self-sustained human beings (and leaders in spe) has been a passion of him since before his time at DTU.
Frederik is happy to mentor young engineers on navigating project organizations and investigating what type of roles that are likely to suit the individual, based on the individual’s preference, personality traits, and typical organizational challenges in the industry.
