Frederik Brandt

Position: Engineer, Composite Mechanics at LM Wind Power (GE Renewables)
Technical University of Denmark (DTU) - M.Sc., Mechanical Engineering

Frederik has 5+ years of experience from the energy sector, specifically with wind turbines and the production of blades. At first, he was part of LM Wind Power as a student and now, he is part of the Materials & Processes department, where he develops and optimizes the design of different components and production processes to continuously drive down the cost of energy. In his current position, he is busy doing just that on the world’s largest offshore wind turbine, the Haliade-X (107m blade). Furthermore, he also coordinates and assists in student projects, which keeps him close to the current generation of students and their thoughts and needs. For Frederik, it is important to have made a lasting impression on the world. Helping to supply clean energy in an innovative and inspiring work environment seems like a good place to start.

Frederik has previously been a mentor for new graduates at DTU, and being able to help and give back to potential future colleagues was fun and rewarding to him. He believes in the mutual opportunity to learn from each other. By sharing his story and experiences, Frederik hopes to help students be well prepared for their professional life. Personally, he wouldn’t mind making a friend and expanding his own network – or theirs.
