Kostas Vavatsoulas

Position: Senior Transport Engineer at Jacobs
Technical University of Denmark (DTU) - M.Sc., Transporation and Logistics

Kostas has 10+ years of combined experience in transportation, traffic, highways and surveying with sound knowledge of planning, design and auditing, including project management and consultation skills. He has led and managed multi-disciplinary design teams on a range of active travel projects, from scheme feasibility and appraisal, preliminary and detailed design through to site supervision during construction. Kostas has worked for central and local government bodies, as well as charity organisations in the UK, Ireland and Greece, delivering high quality infrastructure design, in addition to stakeholder, community engagement and STEM events.


As an active member with the CIHT Scotland Committee, Kostas has undertaken various roles in the past, including the Young Professionals Chair and Recruitment Officer. He is also a trained STEM Ambassador and along with his CIHT experience, he has been engaging with members of the public and schools, promoting engineering, transport planning, active travel, inclusion and diversity, providing mentoring to fellow professionals and students. He is keen to be challenged with new ideas and provide smart solutions tailored to individuals and projects, helping people exceed their expectations and fulfil their ambitions.
