Position:
Product Manager at Samplix
University of Strathclyde - Ph.D. Engineering Synthetic Biology Routes for Protein Analysis using Microfluidic Systems
I have a passion for science! This is evident from my multidisciplinary background: I first graduated in Molecular Genetics from the University of Glasgow and then pursued an engineering Ph.D. developing microfluidic technologies for membrane protein analysis. Currently, I have accumulated 10+ years of experience developing microfluidic tools, 5 of which where in the biotech industry.
My work is still largely interdisciplinary, mixing genomics and proteomics applications with technology and engineering whilst focusing specifically on technologies for protein characterization for the pharma and food industries.
Motivation
I want to develop my leadership skills and learn to become an inspirational leader. I see this mentee/mentor relationship as a two way process, where I am hoping to learn as much from a mentee as I they can learn from me. I am hoping to help a student find their direction by sharing my experiences and enlighten them about possible career paths in industry or academia.
I remember how sometimes the ‘next-step’ can look bleak. I hope to show them that there is light and a sea opportunities awaits for them.
