Sokratis Rontogiannis

Position: Production Manager at ION A.E.
Technical University of Denmark (DTU) - MSc Food Technology

I am a chemical engineer specialized in food technology.
During my academic years, I got exposed to different working regimes and various cultures. More specifically, I studied in Greece (bachelor), Germany (internship), France (bachelor dissertation), Denmark (Master), and Belgium (Master internship). When the time to work came, I decided to start my career in the UK before moving to Belgium and ultimately return to my domicile in Greece.
From 2011 until the end of 2020, I met numerous people, had to collaborate with a great number of professionals, and got lucky to work at very organized and state-of-the-art laboratories and R&D centers.

My working experience is in Food technology, Quality, and Scaling up processes from lab scales to pilot and plant trials.
I have worked in the R&D of Mondelez for almost 3 years in the areas of Deep Discovery and Deployment where i acquired a wide span of knowledge and skills, from how to design an experiment, to how to execute your own industrial-scale trials.
At the moment, I am working as a Production manager at ION S.A.
Before moving back to Athens, I worked for 1.5 year in Belgium, in a totally different field, in project management. I was the project manager of 16 members consortium for a Horizon2020 EU-funded project.

Motivation

Since it has never been easy for anyone to achieve their dreams and to become who they really want to be, I would like to support and assist the mentee with my personal experience in setting the right targets and how to reach the set goals.
I am not an expert, but I have been involved in many different projects, situations, and with many people, hence I can see things a bit objective and clear in comparison with someone who has just started his career.
