Troels Engel Mortensen

I have 6+ years of experience within the healthcare industry in larger companies, have worked mainly in Denmark with a short trip to the US. My career has been focusing on ensuring high-quality and safe medical devices to patients worldwide. From the start as regulatory affairs, with entry to market by designing according to the regulations worldwide, now as quality assurance specialists, where I support the different stakeholders around a company in the products lifecycle (from R&D, product sustaining, production support, validation, post market surveillance etc.) to create a great product that helps save lives. When you enter as an engineer coming into a quality asssurance role, your technical knowledge is of paramount importance in being able to support and understand both R&D and production technician, and being able to assess the regulations. This is my focus, interact with specialists to enhance them at their job by asking the questions that make them see the possible solution for their problem, through curiosity and problem-solving tools. Thereby creating an environment that fosters ideas both 1-to-1 and as a facilitator in larger groups for larger issues.

I am transportation engineer specialized in public transit systems, sustainability, transport economics and generally in the railway sector. I have 4 years of full-time experience from my current position working as a traffic planner at DSB, but have been involved in the railway sector through part-time jobs, internships and NGOs for more than 7 years now. I strongly believe that there is an exciting future ahead of this sector in Europe – now with a significant push for more sustainable and greener transport, it’s on the rise again after decades of political neglect. Now at DSB I work within operations, primarily with mid-term and long-term timetable planning and rolling stock scheduling – but I also have some insight to other fields, such as process development or international traffic coordination.

He has extensive experience working with and for the private and public sector from working in 7 countries in Asia, 8 countries in Africa, 7 countries in the Americas and 6 countries in Europe. Experience includes: Leading smaller and larger teams in development processes; Assessment and development of institutions and organizations capacities; Concept development of water, renewable energy, climate and green growth programs; Process management in development of complex strategies, projects and programs; Results management and impact evaluation of programs for sustainable development in emerging economies; Facilitation of workshops on strategy and vision/mission development

I have 5+ years of experience as a consultant within IT security, specifically within the area of Identity & Access Management (IAM). My expertise is ensuring that organisations considers all aspects of ensuring control and security surrounding their identities (employees) and their access to IT systems. I have worked as both an implementation specialist for IAM software, and as a process and business specialist for getting big IAM implementation projects off to the right start.

Per is a microbiologist and hygiene expert with decades of experience in food safety, biotech, and GMP. Today he runs his own consultancy, BioPres.dk, where he supports companies across the food and biotech industries with hygienic design, microbial risk management, and quality assurance. He has previously held global expert roles at CP Kelco and Chr. Hansen and has led research, training, and industry–university collaborations at DTU and IPU. Per is passionate about turning complex microbiological issues into practical solutions and enjoys mentoring others navigating careers in science and industry.

I have experience in both spacecraft engineering and the medical device industry, which has given me insight into how technical skills can be applied across very different fields – from space technology to developing safe and secure medical devices.
Today, I work with software and firmware development under IVDR regulations, focusing on scalable design, cybersecurity, and acting as a bridge between technical teams, regulatory experts, and business needs. I also work in agile setups as a product owner, guiding projects that involve large data transfers and system security.

Because I’ve moved between industries, I enjoy helping students see how their competencies can be transferred and applied in different settings. I can also support students in navigating the transition from being a student to becoming a full-time professional – from understanding workplace dynamics to building confidence in new roles.

I’ve worked with the Maritime industry for about 5 years, 3 years with a shipyard in India and 2.5 years at Vessel Performance Solutions, Denmark. I currently work as a Vessel Performance Analyst – helping shipping companies improve their performance and also work on improving performance monitoring.
